Travis Etienne Jr. and the Jacksonville Jaguars put up a strong showing against the AFC leading Kansas City Chiefs but ultimately fell to them 27-20 in the Divisional Round. Etienne Jr. averaged 6.2 yards per carry but had to take a backseat as the Jaguars focused on a more pass aggressive offense in an attempt to catch up to the Chiefs. Etienne Jr. finished off a strong season where he had six games with more than 100 rushing yards and will figure to be a more prominent factor in the passing game next season. He ends the season with 1125 total rushing yards, 5 total touchdowns, and 316 total receiving yards.
Wildcard Weekend:
Statline: 20 CAR, 109 RUSH YARDS
Travis Etienne Jr. pulled off what might have been the biggest play of the game, carrying the ball on 4th and 1 with only 1:27 remaining for 20+ yards to set up the game winning field goal in a historic and absolutely crazy comeback for the Jaguars. The Jaguars at one point were down 27-0 to the Chargers, and would go on to win 31-30. Etienne Jr. and the Jacksonville Jaguars will now face the AFC leading Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Week 18:
Statline: 7 CAR, 17 RUSH YARDS, 2 REC, 17 REC YARDS
The Tennesee Titans and their stout run defense found a way to stifle Travis Etienne Jr. and the Jacksonville Jaguars ground game, leading to Jacksonville having to rely on their passing (and defense) to score. Jacksonville ultimately was able to pull out a win for DUVAL as they defeated their divisional rivals and secured their spot in the playoffs against a banged up Chargers team.
Week 17:
Statline: 9 CAR, 108 RUSH YARDS, 1 RUSH TD, 3 REC, 32 REC YARDS
Travis Etienne Jr. only needed 1 half to get to 100+ rushing yards in a game that wasn’t remotely competitive after the 1st quarter. If the Houston Texans actually threatened the Jacksonville Jaguars at any point this game, Travis Etienne Jr. may have had a monster game on the ground. The Jacksonville Jaguars have been on a roll since elevating Travis Etienne Jr. as a starter in their offense, and they’ll look to finalize their playoff push in a huge divisional game against their rivals the Tennessee Titans in Week 18.
Week 16:
Statline: 22 CAR, 83 RUSH YARDS, 3 REC, 29 REC YARDS
Travis Etienne Jr. and Trevor Lawrence led a balanced offensive attack through the air and on the ground against the maligned New York Jets in week 16. Etienne Jr. will look to continue his impressive rookie season against the Houston Texans in a divisional game during Week 17.
Week 15:
Statline: 19 CAR, 103 RUSH YARDS, 2 REC, 24 REC YARDS
The Jacksonville Jaguars and their young stud running back Travis Etienne Jr. took on the Dallas Cowboys in week 15. He was able to rush for over 100 yards for the fourth time this season, increasing his yearly total to 917 yards, 11th among all running backs. Week 13:
Statline: 13 CAR, 54 RUSH YARDS, 3 REC, 12 REC YARDS
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. looked to be healthy and playing well in their week 13 matchup against the Detroit Lions. In the Jaguars’ game last week against the Baltimore Ravens, Etienne left early due to a foot injury, so this was a great sign of his recovery. He finished the game with 13 carries for 54 yards and was able to catch three passes for 12 yards. The Jaguars were not able to stop the Lions on offense as they lost the game 14-40.
Week 12:
Statline: 2 CAR, 3 RUSH YARDS
Travis Etienne Jr. had to leave the Jacksonville Jaguars’ game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. It appeared that Etienne’s left foot had suffered an injury early in the game against the Ravens, the same foot that contained the Lisfranc injury that kept him sidelined for the duration of the 2021 season. The Jaguars’ head coach Doug Pederson said that Etienne is ultimately going to be fine, but they chose to exercise caution and keep him out for the rest of the game. The Jaguars were able to mount a comeback and beat the Ravens 28-27.
Week 11:
Statline: BYE WEEK
The Jacksonville Jaguars have to feel confident in their decision to promote running back Travis Etienne Jr. to a starter as they enter their week 11 bye. Etienne is currently top ten in the league for total yards rushed with 725 and top six for yards per carry at 5.5. He has managed to put up these numbers while only getting more than ten carries in five of his ten games played. After having to sit out for his entire rookie season suffering from a foot injury, Etienne and the Jaguars must be pleased with his performance so far.
